PDN Video Pick: Erik Almas Gets Personal At Perish Trust

Erik Almås shot this video with a Canon 5D Mark II, done in conjunction with a personal still shoot at the Perish Trust antique shop in San Francisco. This is the first in a series of videos Almås hopes to continue work on and post on his Web site under Motion. To read about a recent ad assignment Almås did for biotech corp. Genentech, go to “How I Got That Shot,” also on PDNonline.com‘s gear page.

This is terrible footage. Compared to the other work he does which is usually flawless, this video work is horrible. Shaky camera, pan shots aren’t smooth at all, and the composition is horrible. The models skin looks shiny and greasy. I really don’t get why anyone would want to showcase this work.

    wtf was that??

pointless, nonsense and just plain stupid. why is pdn even mentioning this ‘work’?

I’m not sure what is not obvious about this piece of work. The nostalgic nuances blend perfectly. The punching of the typewriter, the air of melancholy along with hope, the stunning model…

    LOVE this piece.
Way to go PDN and Eric, every time I see something by you, I think, you are one of a few that are getting better and better by the minute.
