Senator Faces Two Years for Attacking NY Post Photographer
Attack a photographer, pay the price. That was the ruling against New York State Senator Kevin Parker who was convicted yesterday of a misdemeanor after getting into a dispute last year with New York Post photographer William Lopez.
Parker was found guilty of two counts of criminal mischief for damaging Lopez’ camera during the fracas. Lopez was also treated for a bruised finger which apparently got caught in the camera strap during the altercation.
According to the NY Times, Parker was arrested last year after he chased down and confronted Lopez for taking photographs outside the Senator’s mom’s home in Brooklyn. Parker now faces up to two years in prison but it was unclear whether prosecutors would pursue jail time.
